I was given a ticket at school by the campus police. It was cited for "head in parking" I never even knew that was "illegal."\
I know most people are not even aware of this. No where outside the student parking does it say that "head in parking" is mandatory. On my ticket there is a code for violating head in parking but how would I know that I violated that if I didn't even know of such a law. Is there any loophole that can allow me to fight this ticket because like I mentioned no where in the parking is it stated that you must park head in.

I have never heard of anything like that. I would make sure that you look at the school handbook and make sure that it isn't stated in there. If it isn't in the handbook then simply go to the office where you are supposed to pay the ticket and tell them about it.

Was this in a cul de sac? In California our law states you can't park further than 18'' away from the curb (right side tires.) so if you park head in to a cul de sac, you are in violation of that vehicle code section.

Sometimes though dude, the law doesn't make sense an example is California Vehicle Code section 23120, which basically says if you have the wide arm sunglasses (i.e. Spy) you can't wear them while you operate a vehicle. Hardly anyone knows this section exists, can I still stop and cite for it? Absolutely.
23120. No person shall operate a motor vehicle while wearing glasses having a temple width of one-half inch or more if any part of such temple extends below the horizontal center of the lens so as to interfere with lateral vision.

Point being, and everyone else said it - ignorance of the law is no excuse....

Ask any Police Officer in the entire word. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse! - I didn't make that up, so don't think I'm calling you ignorant but you can't fight it. You can try but they will tell you the same thing. Probably not in those words though. I've never even heard of "head in parking". Only thing I figure is that they are making you park a certain way. "front of vehicle first". Kind of like on a street where your passenger door has to be parked nearest the sidewalk.

Good luck though

Unfortuantely the way it goes is ignorance to the law is no excuse. It is your responsibility to know what the law is. Now I agree that it should be posted somewhere within your school's handbook or special law sections. If it is not written somewhere in the information given you and is not a standard law that is enforced in the local city, county or state, then you have a point to argue although it probably will not do much for you. You may want to go to the Campus Chief and explain to him that you did not know of this law. Ask him to explain it to you in detail and then guarantee him that you will never violate it again. He may have mercy and discard the ticket. Good luck.

What state are you in? Arizona has a head in parking law for one reason and one reason only we do not have a front tag on our cars. If you back in then we can not see your plate to run it in a parking lot. That is where most of the stolen cars are left.

If it's not posted/or part of the driving manual (the state manual when u get ur permit), then technically they can't give you a ticket. The only way that they could, is if it was in the rulebook, or posted.
