It is a blatant violation of the first commandment and shows a fundamental lack of trust in a benevolent Father. Or complete distrust in God. Basically it is like slapping Him in the face.

Because people tend to depend on the fortune tellers visions...instead of actually living their life according to their daily decisions. It is also a waste of money, some fortune tellers are just pretending to know something about you, but all they do is observe what's on you and based the answer on your questions.
