It is very annoying and I can't open my mouth very wide at all, because it cracks. I need a quick solution to this very nagging problem. Thank you for your help.

Acidophilus tablets ... they work like a charm. You can find them in any drug store. We always kept ours in the frig when we were younger. My brother and I were very suseptible to fever blisters and our mother had them readily available. Take them orally. Another "old wives' tale" is goat's milk. Just drink it. And no, it doesn't taste bad, either!

Whatever you do, don't pick at the scab. It will more than likely leave a scar. Whether it is a permanent scar or one that is there short term, it will be ugly! Keep it moisturized. Something that works just as good as Abreva and is quite a bit cheaper is carmex. It comes in both a little squeeze tube like blistex or a little tub you can swab on with your finger. The squeeze tube is a bit more gentler and you don't have to touch the sore blister on your mouth.

Good luck. I know what you are going through. Those things suck big time!

Keep putting first aid antibiotic cream on there, it'll help keep it soft and more flexible.... keep washing it with a clean rag or paper towel.... it'll heal.... quick solution? I don't know... let nature take it's course...
