I think this is another useful question that every civilian like me should learn. I personally feel the training you get from drivers ed is simply not enough for the roads. Any suggestions from an LEO would be greatly appreciated.

If it is a police car behind you, you are probably out of luck, but you could make a series of turns in the same direction ... each intersection right right right & if you not get followed, then it is your imagination that the police were following you.

If it is not police, then drive to police station, find a parking place rapidly, and call to the police outside, pointing at the car following you ... say they following you ... ask if the police can find out why.

Go to a restaurant and order for a big menu start eating and suddenly go to the bath room and from there vanish.

While walking suddenly turn around and walk back looking straight at the shadow. When they know that you know probably will not follow.

I would get on your cell phone and call the police. If you don't have a cell phone, get to somewhere public like a restaurant, quick shop, or just drive to your police station or a fire station. Get somewhere public!!
