By definition, a dilemma has two unfavorable courses of action. You're going to be impaled by the horns no matter which path you take. And I don't think Satan had anything to do with the original etymology.

Lucifer. In Spanish, i think it's Diablo, which might be what you're thinking. I don't know about the horns. I've never seen him.
