My question is: You now know the facts, so tell me, why hasnt the government taken the time to find out tobacco and drinking kills more people. Most people say "Oh, but more people use it". You know wat else less people use that kills a lot more? Crack, Heroine, Memphamthetamines (sorry spelling) any other illegal drug you can think of. So why havent they banned tobacco and drinking, more dangerous than marijuana, which is banned.

actually, marijuana is a narcotic substance. using a narcotic substance is addictive. Marijuana also causes brain deterioration. And marijuana doesnt help depression since it is a depressant or there is no proof that is helps certain eye problems.

the main reason why marijuana is not legal is that it mainly affects the Nervous system in such a short time and it causes hallucinations delusions illusions and the use of it will be harmful to you and you may cause harm to others as well.

Because,it's easier for people to buy cigarettes than to grow their own tobacco.Plus hardly anybody knows how.Alcohol takes to long time to make. You can just go to the liquior store or the bar. This makes it easier for the Government to control.Mariuana on the other hand ,everybody would have a plantation in there back yard. It only takes mariuana seeds and sun light .The government wouldn't be able to control it.

A lot of money comes from taboacco, that is tax money. So the gov't wouldn't risk those millions of dollars. And alchohal, they already tried banning it. result, everybody just kept on drinking. I think tobacco should be illegal but not alchohal. That would incude wine too and one glass of red wine a day is good for you. And what will u drink at the parties?

Because its a big business. We are talking about millions of dollars. Also known as slow legal suicide. Cell phones cause brain tumors too but in Europe everyone and his brother has one.
Plus if Mary Jane was legal it would put organized crime out of business. It would also lower the price of fabrics since Hemp is more resistant then cotton. Also Hemp oil is very healthy and nutrient. It would distroy the market as it is today.

Tobacco absolutely should be illegal! The ONLY reason it isn't is because everyone in Washington smokes or grows tobacco or gets money from tobacco growers.

It's a sick country in some ways but it's better than any other.

Bravo..good argument.

They cant tax marijuana or it would be very hard to tax it..that's why its illegal. It became illegal in the 20's when Dow chemical company wanted its new nylon rope to sell more than hemp rope. Lobbyist did their jobs and marijuana has been illegal ever since.

The people who make the laws are the main one breaking the law.

Marijuana is illegal, yet it is still the unofficial number one cash crop in at least 5 or 6 states.

Thanks for all the reasons you gave to break the law but I think I'll stay legal.

Obviously if pot were legal, more people would stop smoking cigarettes and drinking. And that's no good for the alcohol and tobacco companies.

if the government were to ban alcohol and tobacco period the economy would be crap. the only reason they keep it is for our street signs and guard rails. it sickens me as well.
