Lots of old nursery rhymes were very violent or rather transparently sexual. This didnt stop people from repeating them for centuries -- it probably made it a little more interesting for the person trying to keep the kids amused.

The other answer correctly quotes the rhyme for this phrase. There was a terrific mystery movie made based on the Agatha Christie movie sometime around 1940 or so. They did a remake in the 50's or 60's but it wasnt nearly as good.

There's also Five Little Pumpkins, Five Little Witches, and Five Little Ghosts, all obviously Halloween-themed. And there's the song Five Green and Speckled Frogs, which is absolutely adorable. I think Raffi does this one. Here's a web site with Nursery Rhymes:

enchantedlearning.com is also an excellent website and so is preschooleducation.com

I'm sure you're not confusing an Agatha Christie novel with a nursey rhyme... therefore I'm betting you're thinking of The 3 Little Pigs.

Five little Easter eggs, lovely colors wore,
Mother ate the blue one, then there were four.

Four little Easter eggs, two and two you see,
Daddy ate the red one, then there were three.

Three little Easter eggs, before I knew,
Sister ate the yellow one, then there were two.

Two little Easter eggs, oh what fun,
Brother ate the purple one, then there was one.

One little Easter egg, see me run,
I ate the green one, then there were none.
