First of all, talk to REAL people, not random people you meet online. If you are faking this to get attention, this isn't the kind of attention you want, believe me.

Talk to your doctor, too, maybe get on a different med. And if you're barely hanging in there, call a suicide hotline.

Suicide is the easy way out of life's endless struggles, but finding the courage to survive is the beginning of the rest of your life.

Remember you control your destiny, what journey that life takes you on and ultimately you are responsible for your own happiness. We only have but one chance in life and we never know day to day when we will take our last breath.

Have you ever tried writing down the things about your life that are going wrong and then the things in your life that are going right? You may view making a list as a waste of time, but it allows you to put your feelings into words and see what is making you feel so miserable. Taking this paper with you to a psychologist would be a great start to improving those things that are problematic in your life.

We all go through struggles where we think that there is no solution to our problems, but just when we least expect it, the solution surfaces from right around the corner. It doesn't always happen when we would like it to, but eventually things always seem to work themselves out. The positive thing right now is that you are brave enough to speak up. Your reaching out on Yahoo Answers is a great step showing that you really are trying to reach out for help, but you will need to gather a bit more courage and contact a psychologist who can really pin point your problems and get you on a road to recovery.

You can do this, you've already taken the first step. Just keep putting your next foot forward and you will succeed. We are all here for a reason my friend and your life is important in this world. I know and understand that some people have more struggles in life than others and I wish that I had the magic answer as to why that happens, but try to take those struggles and gain strength from them. Use that new found strength to begin the rest of your life.

You never know, you may just have a small chemical imbalance causing you to feel this way, but it is best to have a medical professional diagnose your problem. I know that life is hard with all of the challenges and struggles that we have to go through, but there also is an amazing world out there just ready to embrace you.

Good luck to you!

Dan,

By all means see a psychologist or, maybe better yet, a psychiatrist.

You may not know what to say at this point, but your therapist will be very familiar with how you feel.

Put the thought of suicide out of your mind. That doesn't solve anything for anyone. If you think you are miserable, just think how miserable your family and friends are going to be for a long, long time.

Drinking is only going to intensify the negative feelings you have, so go easy on that stuff.

Take it from me swallowing a hand full of pills is not the solution. I have done it and woke up in the emergency room not knowing how I got there. I was sick for days after drinking all the charocoal there made me drink to neutralize all the pills. Sure I still think about it but I realize I can vent my depression and anger somewhere else. I know how you feel and I suggest that you find other ways to get your mind off of feeling like this. It will pass and you'll realze that there could be other things better. The world is full of opportunity for you to seek so don't sell yourself short.

I used to want to kill myself for the longest time. I attempted suicide twice. I even was taken to the Emergency Room in an ambulance one of those times. That was for an overdose of sleeping pills. I was expecting to fall asleep and never wake up. It was not like that at all. My heart was pounding really fast and I felt like I was going to have a heart attack. It was a painful, scary, traumatic experience. I cried a lot from pain. (not to mention the fact that the Emergency Room bill was about $3500). I am glad that I wasn't successful because my life has gotten better. You should see a Psychiatrist, but it is important to find a GOOD one. Some of them are a waste of time. Go to the free website RateMDs.com and check out reviews of doctors by other patients. One big problem for me was loneliness and having no friends. After creating a free web page on MySpace.com, I found tons of friends!

talk to a friend. i have had this before. i am depressed too. overdosing and kiiling yourself isn't the solution. tell your friend how what you want to do. they will support you. you dont need to do this. put yourself in a room with no pills or sharp things. dont harm yourself. you have so much to live for and you really shouldn't end it now. you have worked hard to get so far. you need to pull through this and keep trying. you can do it. you have a lot to look forward to in the future. you may not think you do now, but you can change things. you can change your situation and get help. you won't be thrown into a room with pads and pilliows, dont worry. talk to a friend or someone who you trust. you can get thrugh this. good luck.

you won't be thrown into a padded room for thinking about this. you are just in more pain than you can cope with at this moment.

a good thing to do if you are afraid of contacting a counselor is to email the samaritans. they are a non-religious organization that provides email and phone support all over the world for people going through this.

www.samaritans.org

it's COMPLETELY confidential. and maybe after explaining your situation to that person, you will feel like telling a counselor?

i've done it. i promise you can trust them. if you email, they get back to you within 24 hours.

Dan, listen to me very carefully, you have got to start loving yourself. Look in the mirror everyday and with a confident voice say to yourself, "I Love you Dan." You and I both know you need medication and to see a psychiatrist but you need to find the strength some where to pull yourself out of the rutt. Find something in life that is meaningful to you. Go to church, any church and get prayed over, release those demons inside of you that are tormenting you, and begin to find self worth by leraning how to love yourself and someone else. What is in life that you really enjoy besides drinking? Develop some hobbies? Set some goals and get a few things accomplished to develop a sense of pride? Whatever you have to do, do it! You have to make a decision, and choose to be happy. Did you know that joy, peace, and happiness is a choice? It sounds like you have not found anything in life that is self fullfilling. Start going to attending a church in your area and let them know so that you can recieve deliverance and guidance.

I use to feel like I just wanted to run. everything was wrong and no one understood me . It is a big step to go talk to someone and it takes a while to feel comfortable with them to really open up but you know feeling better takes work you have to want to feel better and since your reaching out for help that's a good sign. You might need to change your meds and talk to someone but also you have to stop being the victim for everyone to walk all over. The only one who can stop that is you. I know its hard because you really learn who your friends are and arnt and that sucks but first you got to worry about you. There is a life worth living but you got to want it because all the meds and doctors cant help you if you don't help yourself and if your not totally honest. Keep a diary it sounds crazy but just to get your feelings out really helps. Good luck

It is never as bad as it seems. You have the ability to choose what you'll do and when. People have no right to use you, but only you can open the door to let yourself be used. Be strong and decide on a different path. Remember, the things we do tell about who we are. No other persons actions or words can tell you about yourself. They can only give an overview of your current state or situation, but they don't encapsulate you.

okay, first of all, do NOT try to overdose. You will probably wind up just making your self relly sick. My mother killed herself this past september. Let me tell you, the people you leave behind are left hurting more than you ever thought you were in your life. I know all about dealing with depression, because i am now 26 and grew up around it with my mom my whole life. please don't try to kill yourself, you really can get help. They don't put everyone in padded cells! I will help you however I can, where do you live and i will help you find some resources in your area. If you want to be helped, there is help out there. just about everyone that tries to kill themselves fails, they just end up hurting themselves really bad. Let me try to help you out. Email me if you want to!
