Concerning immigration bill next week?

What do you think will be the outcome for the final passage of this immigration bill next week. Do you think it will pass.

It might pass the Senate, but it will have a hard time getting through the House (I hope).

I believe that we have a good chance of stoppping it, perhaps as high as 50%. Any bill that gives amensty to 10 to 30 million illegal aliens will not get the support of the American people. The American people want a bill that toughens border security, such as the immigration proposal of Rep. Peter
King, R. NY, the Secure Borders First Act. If we lose in the senate, we still have a bettter than 50% chance of stopping an amnesty bill from passing the US House, so keep up the fight.

I've written the one senator from my state (Utah) who would consider voting for it. Orrin Hatch has way too much integrity to vote for it, so I'm not concerned about him so much. My letter goes something like this, just in case you have a senator who needs to be reminded of who s/he represents:

Dear Senator:

I am concerned about your stand on the immigration bill before you this week. The ONLY legislation I care to see passed is a bill that:

1. SECURES OUR BORDER.
2. DEPORTS any illegal alien who has broken ANY of our laws or consumed ANY of our welfare or public aid benefits.

Once that is securely in place, then I'm happy to begin a dialog over how best to serve the interests of the illegal aliens who are making a net contribution to our society.

I will consider your action on this bill as THE most important criterion when it comes to your next election bid, and I will make an effort to influence many votes, either in favor of you or against you, based on your stance on this most important matter of national security.

I hope It doesn't pass! But with Bush In office I don't know. The man has made up his mind to keep 20,000,000 illegals in this country and I can't understand why. It's clear he is NOT listen to the legal Americans. And I don't think he has a clue to what goes on in the real world. If he did he would see the harm this invasion is creating.

If it does this country will be ruined! I wouldn't be against it if they were willing to learn to speak English and contribute to society.

Unfortunately, the majority of them come here to use the system, are lazy, multiply like cockroaches and continue to have babies they can't support, deal their drugs, and will lower the value of any neighborhood with their filthy way of living.

I don't care who wants to call me racist. I wasn't born with these feelings - I have them as a result of living around these people. As far as I'm concerned, they're worthless.

No it will not pass. If the people in this country illegally are not returned to their home country then it would be amnesty. Anyone supporting/voting FOR amnesty will not be employed with the government come election time. We have the internet now, no more sneaking laws and legislation through!

A small part of me that still isn't that cynical would like to hope that it might not. But, for the most part, I'm rational, and realize that the special interests in favor of it have too much power, and too much money, and too many bought congressman to be stopped.
