I dont believe in God and I'll explain why. Within every civilization throughout history humans have believed in some sort of deity or supernatural occurrence. So what exactly separates your God from the hundreds of thousands of others that man created? Psychological and evolutionary study suggests there’s some inborn human need to have non-ordinary experiences and superstitions. I mean does general human history every strike you as illogical? The inhabitants of ancient Egypt would argue severed donkey heads bring them luck. In medieval times, Doctors would argue the cure to their patient’s ailment is to drill a hole in their skull to release trapped demons. Christians believe that a talking snake tempted the first beings and doomed mankind, so for some reason an all loving and all powerful God found it necessary to torture his son to save them. Muslims believe Jinn dwell in bushes and trees, and that Satan lives up their nose. God did not create man but rather, man created God to rationalize what he could not understand. Nowadays, in this age of knowledge, a man would be considered insane if claims he is a prophet and is able to hear God. An amusing phrase is: If you talk to God you’re religious; if God talks to you, you’re Schizophrenic. There is no evidence God-it would be jumping to conclusions to say that there is. Today, I believe, God only exists within the imagination and fear of humans.

Well I surpose it depends on what religion you are talking about in some ways. Lets take Christainity for example, the reason that it is known by the 'common people' as true is becuase they are not wise to realse the facts, if these 'common people' were to read into Christainity away from the bible, then they would actually find out that Jesus was not the son od God untill 300 years after his death, when a ruler named Constantine tried to stop the fighitng in between Pagans and a new religon. it was decided by a vote. And then it most Pagan holidays were named differently and took the from of christainity.
Christains go to church every sunday to pray, but do you know why it is called sunday? becuase Pagans would go and worship the sun God on that day.
And Jesus' birth is celebrated in December when he was actually born around spring time, but this was too close to his death so it was moved onto a Pagan holiday, or near enough.
WINTER SOLSTICE December 21st:
The celebration of the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. It is the celebration rebirth of the Sun, which is the promise of spring and life even on this the darkest day. Therefore some consider this the new year. The burning of the log is to give the Sun strength. Mumming (plays) such as "St. George" is a Pagan survival , it represents the rebirth of the God. Wassailing or is also a Pagan custom. The Roman festival of the Solstice was Saturnalia, which lasted from December 17th to the 24th.
I will stop now or I will end up writing an essay. If you want to hear more of my views on this then feel free to get in touch with me.

The truth is useful only when it serves a purpose. Otherwise it must be sacrificed for the greater good. I think with all due respect that this ends all possible deb8! Incidentally I am dedic8d 2 saving god from the clutches of all the hideous religions.

I believe in God and I believe that only he/she can judge me and no one else on this earth. There are glitches with every religion. I stopped going to church when I knew better. As a child I had no choice since my parents would drag me there every Sunday.
I also see church and gov't as seperate but some priest feel it is their duty to put in their two cents when an up coming election has a pro choice issue. I don't appreciate that. I think it is worse to try to cover up child molestation that you know has been going on. Where is their reasoning for that? all those poor little boys life ruined because of some perveted creep who hides behind the cloth. And they want to judge me and tell me if I deserve to go to heaven or hell? How many rosemarys do you think they will have to say for their salvation? I agree with the wise,FALSE!

I can see all three points of view - which probably just makes me weird ;-)
I do believe that most religions have some good things to teach, and some bad things to stay away from. I've always been a person who does things my own way, and hopefully that's the way I'll stay.

This type of question is a false dichotomy why?
kindly look it up and rethink your future attempts at this type of communique.
Ok, since I doubt you or any pother will try and understand a false dichotomy, I will go ahead and lay it out.
Religion for the common man, is something that has not been considered, more so, it is something that is "inherited".
The truly "wise" persons that walk this earth are those who have "walked with God" in that they consider the other person's comfort as more important than their own.
The rulers of the earth is the only one you got right. The earth's rulers, whether they are of western or eastern influence, always have realized, that through religion, and it's doctrines, they have been able to motivate their subjegants to march into the misslies of their wars.
What is lacking in your argument is the fact that the atheists have always benefitted from the willingness of those religiously inclined, to die for a belief system.
I do not know of many armies today that do not march on their beliefs.

Religion is one of the greatest political tools known to man, the wise have used it against mankind since the dawn of time, and continues to do so to this day, and ignorance is one of the easiest things in people to manipulate, and that is why religion is so strong today.

I don't agree. Such things can't be effectively generalized because the word 'religion' means different things to different people. I would say that just dogmatic blind faith doesn't appeal to the 'wise' but it may appeal to some people who are using it to put an end to the horrible uncertainty and guilt in their minds.

i view religion for the weak. personally i think religion is just an excuse people use to help them cope with stressful times. by looking forward to an eternal happy afterlife, the person is more peaceful with their current one. whether or not there really is a God is not something i know for sure. I consider myself agnostic in a way, but more towards atheist in some views and Catholic in others. I was brought up and baptized as a Catholic, but I am currently having doubts. [i'm only 17]

Religion at one level is true and become false when one rises higher spiritually.
There is something for beings at every level.
No one can prove God, its a matter of personal experience. Till that occurs it remain as fiction.
