i am going to washington D.C for a weekend what should i see and do when i am down there???? anything would be great

This is just a tip of the iceberg: take a tour of the White House; visit the Capital Building, then walk across the street and visit your Senator's office (you can call first to see if it's open on the weekend); visit the Lincoln,Jefferson and Viet Nam Memorials; there is more Smithsonian to see than there is time in just a weekend; Mount Vernon is close by and well worth even a cab ride to visit it. Both the Mint and the F.B.I. have tours, but I'm not sure if so on the weekend.

With just a weekend to spend there, you might want to take a look at the different Grey Lines Tours that are offered to be able to see a lot, and it will take a lot of the "driving-in-D.C."

Jefferson Memorial
Lincoln Memorial =]
JFK grave site
Mount Vernon =D [George Washington's house]
Tomb of the unknowns
Korean memorials
WWI and WWII memorials
FDR memorial
Fords theater and Peterson house [where lincoln got shot and died]


Washington DC is a beautiful place full of history, Have a great time =]


since it's a weekend, you should really try to go to Mount Vernon, FDR memorial [very nice], Lincoln memorial, Jefferson memorial.

It's full of museums and of course the National Cemetary

The Smithsonians are great. Also some of them have inexpensive cafeterias.
