I see that they are trying to close Guantanamo Bay detention center? Do you really think that this will be done as soon as they are making it sound? How long would something like this take?

Well, we ARE talking about the American Government aren't we? so when they say "we will", "We are going to..." , they mean by the time your great grand son has a 6th cousin, they'll probably start talking about it more seriously in Congress, but if you want my opinion:
I think Guantanamo Bay is almost similar to the Nazi concentration camps, they treat innocent civilians caught in the midst of Battle because they were innocently walking down the street until the boys in tan (US forces) arrest him for terrorism, and to carry people on STRETCHERS is probably not the most respectful way to handle any one (ill people excluded) and neither is not allowing them to practice their faith by reading a book,the quran, or allowing them to even pray 5 times a day in their cages with water bowls like dogs (Paper cant be used as a fuse detonator incase you guys, the US armed Forces, didnt know) if you ask me,"Should they close Guantanamo Bay Innocent Detention Center?" Id say:"I'll be more than happy to place the explosives under that hell hole my self if I had to"

You are all missing the point. We will shut down GITMO very soon but if you think we are going to release the high value targets....not in the cards. Those people are simply going to be sent detention camps in Afghanistan. Notice I didn't say prison camp. This is simply a way to deflate the Hillary Democrats from exploiting this at voting time.

The call by the liberals to shut down Gitmo will more than likely fall on deaf ears. GWB does not respond well when they make demands on this administration. It's pretty obvious who has the loudest voice in this matter, that would be Harry Reid & Company. It's a given that anything with slimy Harry's name attached, doesn't get much response.

All of these people, labeled "enemy combatants" by the Bush administration have not done any of which they have been accused!!!!! They are not terrorists ! It was all a publicity stunt by the Presidents team, to make it look like their doing something. Now that they have violated all human rights on these poor people (not to speak of the Geneva Convention), and still have not gotten any hard information, they want to release them.
I call GITMO the US Terrorist training camp because if the prisoners there have not been a terrorist up until now, they will most certainly become one after their release!!!
Can you blame them?????

Yes it is gonna happen, but the terrorist that are being held there will be going to a facility in Afghanistan to be held.

I don't understand why they would..they are not going to release anyone so they are just going to push the prisoners onto someone elses problem. It makes no sense
