I tell you what I recommend. Buy a nice watch.
When I say a nice watch I am not talking about a Seiko or something like that. I mean a REALLY nice watch. Spend at least a grand.
Take a look at Tag Heuer as worn by Tiger Woods and Matt Damon (among others).
There is nothing like the feeling of checking the time on a beautiful heavy quality Swiss time piece. It will last you for decades if you look after it. I bought a diamond link after winning a couple of grand at poker. It's beautiful, and I wear it every day.
If you don't like the look of Tag, consider Omega (as worn by James Bond!), or Breitling.
If you buy from a reputable online dealer you will save money too, even though they would rather you buy it in store and spend more on it.

Firstly, a great big congratulations to you. I'm not exactly sure what that amount of money is worth in Britain, but I would say a huge tv. If its worth as much as a car, buy yourself a nice car.

Well, you could squander it.
Or invest it wisely, probably after the share crash in the summer.
Then, after 20 years of compound interest, you could have a couple of hundred grand to squander.
Not bad for an initial £1.00 investment.

You will have a lot of Friends around you if you let out this secret in you're personal life, my advice is to save it in an ISA and make it earn more like I used to with any bonuses that life sent my way FORGET YOU HAVE IT, then when you get to my age pay of ALL debts and you will be smiling as much as I do ! .Trust me you will be grateful in years to come.
