Taco Salad for Many, if you are a good cook, you can expand or change this to serve your needs depending on what ingredients you have!

*In a huge bowl shred a head of lettuce
*Add some crosswise sliced red onions
*2 cans of drained kidney beans, can be one can red, one can black
*Throw in a can of diced chilies or a jar of drained jalapenos
*Dump in a can of sliced black olives
*Slice up a red bell pepper and put in too

Toss the whole thing so it's mixed up well and sprinkle with a package of Taco Seasoning.

Just before serving add a small bag of bite sized tortilla chips or Frito's. We used to be able to get chips in the shape of folded taco shells and use those. Your imagination is endless with these types of salads!

Have fun and stay away from stuff containing mayonnaise!

Baked beans or tater salad are good as well as a cold macaroni salad. If you know that there will be grilled corn you could use you kitchen skills to whip up some great flavored/herbed butters and spreads to go on the corn. Good luck and have a great time at your bbq.

How about grilled peaches?

I prefer white peaches for this but you can use yellow...

Simply half the peaches and remove the cores. Mix some butter and brown sugar and maybe some cinnamon. Grill the cut side down first, then turn them up and spoon in a little of the sugar mixture. Serve with whip cream or cool whip.

An impressive treat to bring, are mexican almond cookies. Look at recipes on recipe.com. It's just like a good 'ol sugar cookie, but with an almond in the middle, and some crushed up almonds inside. yummy!!!

Ramien noodle slaw is the BEST!
1 bag cabbage,1 pkg ramien noodles(chicken flavored), 1 small bunch green onions, 4oz sunflower seeds, 4oz slivered almonds. Crunch noodles into small pieces, add slaw, green onion, sunflower seeds, and slivered almonds. To make dressing: 1 cup red wine vinegar,1 cup sugar, 1 cup vegetable oil, and the chicken flavor packet that came with the noodles. Mix well, pour on salad, and refrigerate at least 2-4 hours. This is fantastic, keeps well, quick and easy, and great with BBQ! Trust me on this one! I usually have to double mine it goes that quick! You can also make this the night before : )

Take red bliss potatoes, toss with olive oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper, chopped bacon, chives and red onion. It's a light version of potatoe salad that can remain outside because it doesn't have mayonaise.
