The more stuff you have piled in your room, the more it feels like a dense underbrush, now that the babies are born, mom has to leave them to hunt (even though I'm sure you guys have food and water for her there) and generations of surviving in the wild have made her instincts very strong to do what is best for her kittens. Keeping the kittens hidden is to protect them while she is away as well as give her a safe place to rest with them. If you really are concerned about the kittens being in your room, you will have to shut the door and keep her out, but then try to give her a covered space, in a quiet area. The high traffic areas where people are always moving around may be too busy for her to be happy. Good luck with the kitties, and hopefully you find them all good homes.

She is actually trying to protect them. In the wild, babies are easy prey. This is part of the mothering instinct even if she is hand-reared.
Cats also instinctively give birth in hidden places. Why? Well, when you're giving birth, you can't protect yourself.
It seems like she hasn't learned that in a house, there is no truely secluded spot, but is still trying to find one. Three weeks seems kind of long to be carrying on this way, but if you give her another week or two she will probably realize they are fine and give up.
We had a cat like this years ago. When she would get pregnant, we'd have to keep her locked up before she delivered and for almost a month after or she'd continually hide them.

She is going through a very scary thing and her place of security is your room she is just trying to feel secure in her babys safety. Why is your room not safe for them?? Can you make it safe for the time being so she can calm down? Once that happens you will have peace in your home again. Be patient and just try to make her comfortable.

Mom Cat is trying to protect her kittens-thats her job! She will do that as long as she feels her kittens are being exploited or may be in danger. You are going to have to let her have her way or she will just keep moving them. Thats all I can say.

why did you alow her to get pregnant. cats just don't fall pregnant. irresponciable cat owners don't spay/neuter their cats and alow them to have kittens where there are WAY too many unwanted kittens in this world. it's so sad.
