Jesus said: "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst....."

A large % of the population in Congo is Christian. The country also has world-wide one of the highest % of deaths caused by starvation.

Somehow those words of Jesus seem kinda arrogant to me, I don't know why...

Isn't an apology in order?

The bread referred to is in spiritual context. As man died (spiritually), the only way to live eternally is to accept Jesus Christ and his Word. The bread refers to the Word (Bible).

As you are from Congo and reporting starvation, may I point you to what is happening in Zimbabwe. In a country where there is starvation now, there was a time when that country used to have abundant food grains. But in the name of social justice, farms were redistributed and there is starvation now. That's man made disaster. Who needs to make apology - man or God?

The answer to your question lies in : are you willing to accept responsibility and do what you can to make someone's life better?

Spiritual blindness once again leads to scriptural misinterpretation. Jesus was speaking of spiritual hunger and thirst. Many are spiritually starving and thirsting, but that is certainly not due to arrogance from Jesus, but from the arrogance of those who reject Him.

So why should it seem that way to you? It sounds like you know what he said but didn't follow his instructions?
So go sell all you own and give it to these poor ones and follow Jesus? then they won't go hungry, if they do as you do? So if you place his Kingdom first, then you set the example for all to follow.
He said to place his kingdom first then all these other things would be there.
(Matthew 6:33-34) . . .“Keep on, then, seeking first the kingdom and his righteousness, and all these [other] things will be added to YOU. 34 So, never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties. Sufficient for each day is its own badness.

blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth although their bodies are hungry their souls are full of jubilation and love for Jesus and has it ever occurred to you that 85% of the congo is christian because thats where he is most needed and one can even argue that if more of the western world doesnt hold the teachings of jesus in high regard because another force has a strangle hold on us,not that i am a christian i just recently started to view things differantly

I wouldn't dream of calling the second highest personage in the universe arrogant, especially when my problem is merely a lack of understanding. Jesus was referring to spiritual hunger, my friend, not literal hunger.

Do you really want to understand that passage, or do you really care less about trying to understand something further rather than coming up with your own conclusions?

The passage you are referring to is about spiritual hunger and thirst - not physical.

He was talking about the spiritual side. He said also that he was the water and that all that come to Him shall never thirst again. He was talking about spiritually.

The analogy is for spiritual hunger and spiritual thirst. Maybe you should apologise for your stupidity?

shouldnt you apologize for your arrogance? Jesus was a humble man. if the Congo has a high starvation rate it's because of people like you who wont do anything to help them.

He's not talking about physical food there. If that were the case, He would be encouraging cannibalism. Jesus will never apologize about anything that He did or didn't do.
