I used a digital handheld recorder to tape a portion of a conversation. I need just that portion transferred to a CD so that I can mail it. Is this possible? Are there any places in the Bronx, or the general New York City area that offer this service? Thanks for the help.

You seem to have a computer, so why don't you do it yourself.
Connect the headphone output of the recorder to the audio input on your PC. (you can buy a cable at Radio Shack)

Use the built-in sound recorder (Start-all programs Accessories-Entertainment) to capture the audio.
Use Windows player to burn the CD, or simply e-mail the audio file.

hand held audio recording units are designed with the objective of recording speech, with the intention to create a checklist of what grow to be pronounced. they are no longer relatively designed to checklist song for destiny listening excitement. you could purchase greater useful high quality transportable recording units that use a shotgun microphone, yet those are not hand held -- you could lug the lunchbox sized hardware with it.
