To me its like the philosophy section with people thrown in. That is in all honesty why I use it.
The opinions you get here are strong and varied very entertaining, and I became a couple of peoples fans. I don't search the subject I just see who starred what.
I am an atheist/agnostic. I really got fascinated when I saw the attacks on atheists, and vice versa. I aim never to harm anyones views that do not cause harm, but I have to read this stuff, and more than often put my view in. The Theists often invite us to speak, some people forget that.
If I have learnt one thing: You get good people and bad people within Theism and Without.

Wait... How are we supposed to answer this? Either we can read minds, can see the future in order to view this question, or we have to answer no?... But, wait, if the convention is to not answer until one reads the whole of a question, then I suppose everyone should answer yes, as we do now know. But then again, we don't really know, as we don't know for a fact that you are credible and aren't lying, just staying here as an agent as the Allied Atheist Alliance to trick us. But then again, were you an agent of the Allied Atheist Alliance, why would you ask a question that could lead me to that conclusion? You must be a member of the United Atheist League posing as a member of the Allied Atheist Alliance in order to confuse me and make me believe you eat on your tummy rather than a silly thing like a table. Then again, were that your motivation, why would you list reasons at all, I'm not sure your Allied Atheist Alliance impersonation would be good enough to attempt to conceal your membership in the Allied Atheist Alliance this well.... grrr
Is the answer, blue?...

I never understood why people would get so upset at atheist about being on the R&S board when half of the questions asked are directed towards atheists.

Atheists, to their credit tend to be better reasoners. Theists, to their credit tend to be better at jumping the gap of 'belief' in something they can't see. The two need to come together! It's natural to be curious and interested in what will bring wholeness and balance within yourself.

I am still laughing at Mr. Beasley's answer.
But seriously, I have no problem with athiests that are here to actually have some honest dialogue without the name calling or Christian bashing.
If you are here for that, than I commend you.

Yep, all good reasons. I think our most important reason for being here is to educate and inform... but the entertainment value and social aspects are definitely worthwhile too!

I would also add to remove any and all false statements about Atheists that seem to be mentioned here by overzealous religious fanatics.
