I know everyone is gonna say "just don't drink so much", but I always do and I always suffer the next day. It's so bad that I have to totally write off the next day. I usually can't even make it out of bed the next day and if I try and eat I'm sick within half an hour (gross I know!) Luckily I don't get that drunk that often, and it's only a few times a year but my friends never seem to suffer as much. I've tried everything people have suggested- pints of water before bed, bananas in the morning, diarolyte sachets to rebalance your salt levels. Nothing seems to work, and if I try to take pain killers or resolve/alka seltzer the following morning they just make me sick. Any weird and wonderful suggestions? (I'll try anything!!!)

What is Tylenol please? I've never heard of that. Are you in the UK?

Everyone's system is different and thats why some can handle more drinking and sometimes no hang over. To prevent a hangover, make sure you don't drink on an empty stomach and before bed, drink ALOT of water because Alcohol dehydrates your body. And take a few tylenol. When you wake up the next morning, try taking a cool shower and eating, you can start off with just toast. As the day goes on you can eat more and you will feel 100% better.

Alcohol contains congeners which give you the hangover . Cheap booze usually causes this most often . Before you go to bed , drink a glass of water or if you can stomach it - a glass of milk. Milk has very good sleeping properties without making you pee all night! I wouldnt really suggest taking any pain killer or paracetamol as that tends to get you even more drunk . A glass of water not only helps a hangover , it stops you waking up in the early hours of the morning with such a dry mouth . I dont really know what you CAN eat because everyones different i guess. But foods to avoid would be sugary snacks like chocolate due to it raising your blood sugar levels sky high and ultimately making you feel worse. Hope this helped!

Like i tell everyone who ask this question, The Hair Of The Dog, is a 100% cure. That is not more than two drinks of what gave you the hangover ,the night before. Try it. P.S. thought if i use capitals ,people will take more notice of the cure. Good Luck friend.

Best thing is while your drinking keep having glasses of water. You might seem like a bit of a prat at the time but you will defintely be thankful in the morning, one of the main reasons for hangovers is dehydration. If youve been sick it makes it worse and dehydration makes a headache even worse.
I was always like you a complete mess the next day but a mate of mine told me and it really does work, plus try not to drink on an empty stomach (which is hard when your getting ready to go out, i know)

I never tried this myself but had many friends who swore by it. Drink a beer after waking. (just one) The reason everyone usually says to take some pain medication is for the headache. From what I understand, the reasoning for the headache is you are not taking in enough oxygen. Supposedly the beer helps with this among many other hang over ailments. I have to say it though, the only way to truly prevent a hangover is not to drink at all. lol

The only thing that will REALLY prevent or cure a hangover is water.
Make sure you have a half glass of water for every alcoholic beverage you consume, and I almost promise you won't be hungover the next morning.
BTW, Tylenol is acetaminophen.

Water is the most effective. People say that drink at least a pint prior to going to bed, but included in this is ensuring that you drink water when you are on on the lash.
This does two things. The first is the most obvious - it dilutes the booze, not the effect, it just takes a bit longer to happen. Secondly, you actually go to the toilet less often. Make sure that you drink the obligatory pint prior to going to bed AND take the paracetomol/ Ibuprofen before waking up. Keep a glass of water at your bedside through the night, so as to avoid unnecessary trips to the toilet through the night.

Eat plenty of food the entire day you know you will be drinking. And snack during (proteins, fats, carbs). In between, pace yourself with water, colas with caffeine, or coffee. But stay hydrated. Get up and walk around. I tend to drink more when I am sitting for long periods of time, because my balance is not affected and I don't notice that my motor skills are being impaired. That's always a good litmus test. If you feel as if you've had too much, force yourself to stay awake and eat two pieces of greasy pizza. The grease + bread is my magic trick. Then take one aspirin before bed. Drink more water. Bananas are for leg cramps, if you get too dehydrated, and drink electrolyte drinks. Oh yeah, and don't drink and drive...xox.

Drink unfiltered beer that is bottle conditioned. The yeast slurry that forms on the bottom of the bottle is high in complex B vitamins which help your body metastasize sugar. One fo the side effects of injesting ethanol is that your body metastasizes sugar much more slowly. A hang over is, in essence, a sugar crash. If you notice, you will get much more ruthless hangovers if you drink mixed drinks high in sugar than if you drink straight high proof alcohol.
Taking an ASPRIN before passing out helps becasue it thins you blood which helps reduce the headache associated with a hangover, but won't really help with the sugar issue too much.
Drinking a crap load of water also helps to rehydrate you.
Of course, the obvious solution is to not drink as much.

I eat plain bread before I start drinking, usually a crusty bread like Italian or French...2-4 slices should do it! When I do this, no matter how much I drink, I never have a hangover!
If you wake up the next morning and have a hangover(without eating any bread the night before) I swear by eggs benedict and filet mignon....yum!
