Nope. When dogs are in "heat" they will bleed. This is what attracts the male dog. So, no, once your dog is spayed there will be no more bleeding. It is much healthier for the dog as well, you can ask any vet.

We actually had a femail poodle that was never fixed (we never bred her either) and she died of cancer at the age of 15. I know she had a very long life but the vet informed us had she been spayed she probably would not have got breast cancer.

Also, you don't want her to have unwanted puppies. There are too many homeless animals out there. :)

No, once your dog is spayed, she will never have another period/estrus cycle. The ovaries and uterus will be removed, so it would be impossible for her to to have a period. Spaying before the third heat cycle reduces the chance of her having mammary cancer. It will also reduce the number of unwanted dogs in the future. But keep in mind that all surgeries carry a certain risk.

No when you get your dog spayed the vet will remove the uterus, ovaries etc so she will not have another heat cycle. There is no evidence either that it's healthier for the dog to go through "x" amounts of heats or to wait for her to have 1 litter either. As soon as the vet says she is old enough to be spayed you can go ahead and do it which is usually about 4-6 months for most breeds.

No, spaying prevents her from going into heat or having any pups. Lots of times the dog will "mellow out" after being spayed.

1. a male dog is going to hump, this doesn't change whether the female can be bred or not. 2. no unless she didn't get spayed properly, she will not get pregnant because she had her ovaries removed

No. She will no longer go into heat once she is spayed. She will also have less of a chance of getting several types of cancers, so she will also live longer!

No she will not. She will become more friendly toward you & your family as well. It only takes a few days of some TLC and she will be back on her feet in no time at all. You also prevent her from being able to catch many illness...you're right on track & good luck to you & your new puppy.
