If the recipe asks you to put eggs into the recipe and then refrigirate for four hours, there is no risk of poisoning. As long as eggs are properly refrigirated, it doesn't matter if they are in the shell or mixed with something else. And as long as the recipe calls for you to cook it to the appropriate temps after the refrigiration process, there should be no chance of illness.

Hi:
I researched a little and I found this that could help you to make a salmonella-free dessert:
http://www.foodtestingstrips.com/
make a search to find more places to buy.
Salmonella bacteria is in eggshells.
Use really fresh eggs. If you wash and scrub them in fresh running water right before you use them should be Ok.
Wash your hands and use the eggs as indicate on the recipe. refrigerate immediately. and eat it shortly after the 24 h. period.
Do not wash eggs shells ahead and put them back into the fridge, as the eggshell will get thinner.
There is salmonella in a lot of places, even your own body: is the amount of what you ingest that would make you sick. It is more safe to make this recipe in the winter, because salmonella bacteria thrives faster in warm temperatures.
I hope this helps.

Unless it is baked at some point, don't risk it.
This is safe:
Silken Chocolate Tofu Pie

1 block silken tofu
1 cup of semi sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup strongly brewed black coffee
1 tablespoon vanilla flavoring
graham cracker pie crust
fresh raspberries (optional)

Directions:

1. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave or on stovetop.

2. Blend together: tofu, chocolate chips, coffee, and vanilla.

3. Pour into graham cracker crust and chill 1-2 hours in the freezer, or 4 or more hours in the refrigerator.

4. Garnish with fresh raspberries when serving.

Serves: 8

Preparation time: 15 minutes plus 2 hours chilling

No, it is not safe unless the eggs are cooked. But you can sometimes find eggs that say on the package "pasteurized in the shell". If you use those, you can have them raw. Another choice is to get a product like Egg Beaters, which are in the refrigerated section of the store, near the eggs. They are in a little carton and are safe to have raw.

Wash the eggs first as the salmonella lives on the shell more often than inside. Don't forget where it came from.
