I want a puppy so bad, but my dad makes it so impossible to get the puppy. For example he says "He can't bark, shed and he has to be cheap." But I don't want a naked little timid dog. I want a fluffy Chihuahua witch cost like 100$ and more! Please help!

go to the pound the dogs are like $40 with all there shots. You can get a short haired puppy and most of the time they have chihuahua mixes and a long haired chihuahua is more like $300 and bark more then other dogs

first, chihuahuas are some of the most expensive dogs...the cheapest ones i've seen have been $600. prices can vary, and if you want to make sure you get a dog with a good temperament, you should go to a breeder. if you go to a pet store or get a dog through the classified ads, you're not as likely to get a well-socialized dog with good bloodlines and temperament, however, you will be able to get lower prices than with breeders. a good way to go may be for a mixed breed, like a poodle cross (ie. schnoodle--schnauzer/poodle; shih-poo--shih-tzu/poodle; cockapoo--cocker spaniel/poodle, etc.). if they're crossed with poodles, they definitely won't shed, and crosses are always cheaper than purebred. second, many types of dogs don't shed, or shed minimally (like, you can't see it, and it doesn't get on your furniture). these breeds are: schnauzers, poodles, wheaten terriers, west highland terriers (westies), bedlington terriers, maltese, shih-tzus, lhasa apsos, bichon frisé, which are all small breeds (under 20 pounds). as for the barking, that is a question of training--you have to train your dog not to bark, however getting a less vocal breed would help. you can do some research, although i can tell you right now that westies and schnauzers are pretty vocal, poodles can be (although mine isn't) and maltese are picky. your dad will fall in love with the dog once you have it too, so as long as it seems as though you're making an effort to train the dog not to bark, he should be ok.

A Long Haired Chihuahua would be perfect. Nice and fluffy and doesn't shed, but all dogs bark.

You should always read up about any breed you may be considering.

Here is a link to a very good website that has general information on different breeds and their temperments and behaviour.

After all it is only you who can judge what dog is right for you and your lifestyle.

Try take a look round your local dog rescue center, you will be suprised at what they have, you might find the perfect little dog right there, and he wont cost as much, the rescue center will also microchip and neuter him, saving you money.

Good Luck in finding your new companion :]

You should tell your dad that all dogs bark! There are also Yorkie/Poos, they don't shed either and you can find them cheap in some places. Put a wanted ad in the paper or just keep looking, Sooner or Later one will appear.

I would go to the shelter. Then have some chihauhuas that aren't very fluffy and if they are very for very long can be like under $30. I can't help you on the barking thing though just once you buy it train it.

a chihuahua is a small timid dog. but you have to obey your father's wishes. it cost about $1000 dollars to take care of the dog for about just 4 months. so be prepared, your gonna have to give it baths, its gonna bring bugs in your house & bed (if you let him stay in it), and is a lot of responsibility. i love dogs, and im all for them. but be aware of the responsibility before you get it. i hope you get your dog, good luck! =D

p.s - go to a shelter instead of a pet store.. you could save a little dogs life. so please, adopt a pet!

Yell at your dad, cry your eyes out, fall on your knees and throw silverware at the wall, tell him you're going to die if you can't get what you want. If he says no, scream at him- then run around the house threatening to burn the city down.
