When cats are out in the wild they become much more aware of their surroundings and noise. With kittens they remember a lot of their tender little lives being alone and struggling to survive. Give them time, they will eventually come around.

Hi - depending on how long they were feral, they will take a long time to get used to you. I captured some kittens in a have a heart trap from a stray that lives near us and a friend of mine adopted them. It took almost a year or more for them to accept that he would not hurt them. the male is still skiddish but will sleep on his bed.
good luck

It's normal. Their mother taught them to run first and ask questions later. See if you can lure them to you with treats. The cats are somewhat feral (which means they're a bit wild). Cats like this take a lot of patience. It does get better, but very slowly. My cat is rather similar. I've built his trust in me over the last three years. He still runs if he's startled or frightened. But he sleeps with me every night and likes to nuzzle my face.

I think you answered your own question. "The babies were scared and alone in the woods for weeks". Its crucial during their younger months that kittens get properly socialized. It sounds as if these two kittens weren't, which is why they are still skittish. Don't worry, they will grow to trust you more and more. Just be patient.

Nothing is wrong. They just need time to adjust. Yes 10 months is a while but it took my mom's cat over a year to get used to being in the same room as people. She's still a little skittish. Just keep being nice to them.

It could just be their personalities. When my cat had five kittens they were all treated the same but they were all different. Two were really brave and confident and would come to you. Two were shy and needed some encouragement to come out. And one was so scared there was no way to make that kitten come to you.

Keep loving them & be patient, the poor guys had a tough start in life. It took me over a year before a stray I'd feeding would let me pet him, and another stray I took in as a kitten never stopped being afraid of brooms (most of our cats think it's playtime when I sweep). I don't like to think about what might have happen to her before I found her.

The kittens still have a memory of when they were out on their own. Usually animals remember when they are being hurt and what hurt them. It sound like they have a trust issue. Just continue to love them and pet and hold them alot. Eventually they will get over it.

maybe because that they been out in the woods, they heard things that might scare them. when u get near them, make sure that u crouch low and approach slowly. also make sure that u are not holding anything bigger than them. play wit them lots too. bring more friends in the house so they can get used to a lot of people...and who the hell put the kittens out in the woods in the first place?!

Okay My Grandmothers cat is like that too.Her Name is Momma cause she had a lot of kittens. But she came there when she was an adult. Now your cat is probably scared because she was in the woods and in the woods there was probably alot of animals that they didn't like.Sometimes try to gently talk to the kittens it works. And also if they do let you pet them pet them very gently to show them that your a gentle person and won't cause no harm. They are probably sensitive
and have sensitive reactions.
