Try volunteering at a shelter so you can not only give dogs that have no home or owners some love and attention, but get your "dog fix" at the same time.

I'm in the same situation as you are, but it's just that there are no dogs allowed at my apartment building. So I'm just gonna wait till i move out on my own to get one. Meanwhile what i do is i dog sit a pug for a friend of mine who goes on trips every now and then. This way it's like i have a dog (even if only for a little while) and i also get the idea of how it really is. It's a good experience so you can really decide on whether you're willing to take on all the responsibilities of having a dog.

Hmmm, there are usually reasons why parents don't want to have a dog. But they are your parents and there is nothing you can do but wait til you are older. So, I understand how you feel cause I always wanted a dog when I was younger, but was never able to. So then when I was older we had one. But even though I love dogs I sure found out how much work they are! It is like having a kid sometimes, they have to be walked very early and a few times a day no matter what the weather. And of course they have to be trained to go the bathroom outside and there will be accidents and who will clean that up? It is a huge responsibility !

I'm assuming you live with your folks and they won't let you have a dog. My parents were the same. I had no choice but to wait until I had a family of my own. I've never been without a dog since! It was worth the wait. Be patient and one day you'll have your doggy.

Wait until you are allowed or are out on your own. In the mean time find someone who could use some help with their pets. Ask the neighbors if you can walk their dog or volunteer at your local shelter.

Wait. See if you can get fish instead. I really wanted a cat for a while, but couldn't afford it. So I got a couple of aquariums, one for goldfish and a little one for a betta. They're not cuddly, but it did help.

depends on how old yo are if it's because your parents won't let you then grow up, move out, and do what you want
If it's because of where you live then move.
