Hey, I got into an accident by going the wrong way on a one way street. The cop reported it as a "RAN RED LIGHT/INTERSECTION - A" seeing as I could not see the light (as I was going the wrong way), can I get the ticket removed on the basis that the cop did not report the incident correctly?

thanks.

I am sure you can get this corrected by going to court and contesting the ticket but you will then get slapped with the correct offense of 'driving the wrong direction...". Which to me, sounds worse. Check your state specific dept. of motor vehicle web site and see which infraction is worse. Maybe the cop was trying to cut you a break with a lesser offense. Good luck.

Actually you need to take the offense apart - read it as multiple choice
1. Ran red light
2. Ran intersection
If the accident took place in the intersection, then you certainly ran the intersection without driving properly and you are in violation. You might look up the law wording in your state's law. But check with a lawyer.

1) You were going the wrong way on a one way street
2) You ran a red light (no matter that you couldn't see it because you were busy breaking the one-way law, you still ran it)
3) You caused an accident due to your inept driving.

If you opt to fight it, you'll probably get charged with multiple offenses and your license will likely be revoked.

So please, fight it. You're not smart enough to be driving.

" of course, he might desire to not see that I had my seatbelt fixed. The shoulder harness grow to be hidden below my arm." you weren't donning your seat belt (not suitable) and wrapping it around your leg does not count selection the two. You admitted that the cop could not see your seat belt grow to be on, yet you act as though he's the as$hollow for merely doing his job. You of course took TONE with him to pis$ him off like that. you think of you acted respectfully, inspite of the undeniable fact that this is straightforward to work out your techniques-set top here (you're blaming him on your incorrect doing). particular, I certainly have been pulled over while i grow to be youthful and the cop grow to be an as$hollow, because of the fact i grow to be an as$hollow that took tone. Tone isn't something you spot popping out of your person mouth, yet you could certainly discover the slightest bit popping out of somebody else's mouth, merely like that cop did with you. next time "you" screw up take duty, fairly than blaming somebody else for "harassing" you.

I honestly don't know what to tell you, but you could either get a lawyer who specializes in traffic cases such as this or you can go to traffic court and request to talk with the prosecutor if he's there before you're called up by the judge.

I'm a prosecutor. Please don't take offense, but your question is the same as: "Hey, I was going 75 mph in a 55 mph zone. The cop wrote the ticket for 60 mph! Can he do that?"

If you are getting a break, please take it!

Best of luck.

You didn't get into an accident, you caused one!! What makes you think you deserve to get out of anything? Grow up, take responsibility for actions, and move on!
