Did you just have a cleaning and now it is turning this color and burning? Did they prescribe a prescription mouth wash for you and you are using it? I'm not sure how to answer, but I would say to brush the gums with a soft brush, not just the teeth, but where the gums and tooth meet. Use small circular motions. Brush for at least 2 mins. 2-3 times a day. Floss one time a day, in a "c" shape around both sides of the teeth. Slide back and forth until you are past the tight contact. Now slide up and down or around if you can, just like you are puffing it,,not see sawing. Rinse with warm salt water after. Keep this up and after 4-5 days, the bleeding will be gone or a lot less. It is your goal to get them to not bleed when you brush or floss.

Your dentist may treat gingivitis in several ways, but the first step is to thoroughly clean your teeth, removing all traces of plaque and tartar — a procedure known as scaling. The cleaning may be uncomfortable, especially if your gums are already sensitive or you have extensive plaque and tartar buildup.Gingivitis usually clears up after a professional cleaning as long as you continue to follow a program of good oral hygiene at home. Your dentist may recommend using an antiseptic mouth rinse in addition to brushing and flossing.

At first your gums may bleed after brushing, but this usually lasts just a few days. If you persist, you should see pink, healthy gum tissue in a short time. You'll need to practice good oral hygiene for life, however, so your gum problems don't return. Because misaligned teeth and poorly fitting crowns and bridges make it harder to remove plaque, your dentist may recommend fixing these problems as well.

You might have infected gums, like inflamed, which is pretty much gingivitis. Plus if you brush your gums too hard when you are brushing your teeth that could cause your gums to burn.

You should really start flossing 2 times a day to prevent gingivitis or gum disease.

HELLO ERIC.
IF YOUR DENTIST DIDN'T GET YOU ON A TREATMENT PLAN TO FIX THE GINGIVITIS, THEN GO TO A DIFFERENT DENTIST.
THE CARE YOU GIVE YOUR GUMS HAS A LOT TO DO WITH THEWAY THE LOOK AND FEEL.
START USING A WATERPIK ORAL IRRIGATOR. THIS WILL HELP TO FIRM UP THE GUMS AND KEEP THEM CLEAN.
