what car parts have rare metals on them/are made of rare metals? also what kind of metals?

Catalytic converters have small amounts of Platinum in them (at lease older models had Platinum).

Capacitors on the computer circuit boards could possibly contain Tantalum or Niobium. Silicon chips on the computer boards are doped with Boron and Arsenic (not that rare).

LED indicators and new LED tail lamps contain alloys of Indium and Gallium (with less rare Phosphorus, and Aluminum).

While not a metal, Krypton gas is pretty rare -- they put that in those new-fangled headlamps.
