Long hair can work for a long hair if it has bangs & layers to add a horizontal element.

i would say a shorter cut would suit you best. kinda like a bob, with long layers that accentuate your face. so the longest part of your hear would reach around your chin, then shorter layers going up, to give volume and definition to your hair. side parts would look great too.
