Kelly, I think this means a trip to the doctor. If you didn't have this problem when you were very little and learning to read and write, it is not dyslexia. Dyslexia is something you are born with and is usually found out when the child starts school and is being taught how to read and write.

Everyone reverses words like that once in a while, but if it is happening to you constantly, as you say, then there is a problem. It could be stress. Is there anything going on in your life that is causing you to feel very tense and stressed out?

Also. how long has this been going on? Does it get worse when you are tired? These are some of the questions the doctor will ask. There is a condition called Aphasia where a person will speak as you are doing.

The type of doctor you need to see is a neurologist. This kind of speech problem comes from the brain, and what the doctor has to do is figure out what is causing it and how to treat it. Best of luck to you.

I would be more worried about the cat being red. Sorry I couldn't resist that. It does not soumd like dyslexia but I would see your GP. Stress can cause all kinds of strange symptoms and if you worry about it then it could get worse. Take your time when speaking and relax, that may help.

Is this a "new" problem for you? Have you recently had any sort of illness / virus or trauma to the head? More headaches than you'd "usually" have? Any odd "pins & needles" or tingling in your limbs?

If its something new, then you really should go and have it investigated. There might be something going on in the brain that needs investigating.... That sort of "problem" becomes common in people after a stroke or TSA.

I'd say more about it, but my typing skills reflect my disability and I spend a lot of time with Spell Check.

See your doctor for a check up.

This sounds a little like aphasia and it could simply be the tip of the iceberg.

Hopefully you will be well again very soon!
