Call the police, they will put a hold on them, the only problem is that they take the things into evidence, sometimes up to 6 months. Ask the officers if they can photograph the items for evidence, so that you can actually take possession of them now. You need to contact the police as soon as possible, because the pawn shop could sell some of your items. If anything is missing ask the officiers to check the pawn shop's records

See if there is a Pawn Shop Sq in the Detective Bureau at your local PD and talk with them. They can advise you what steps you have to take and be prepared to have to buy your stuff back. And do this ASAP because the Pawn Shops only have to hold items so long and they can sell it. Make sure you have proof what is yours and hopefully you made a police report (?) If not, talk with the detective and see what you need to do.

In Florida, here is what needs to happen.
Call the police and they will go to the pawn shop and put a law enforcement hold on the items. They will then collect the pawn ticket with the "sellers" information and thumb print on it.
A Pawn Detective will than get with you and you prove to them that the items are yours. The seller will then be charged with Defrauding a Pawn Broker, Dealing in Stolen Property and Theft (Grand or Petit depending on the value of the items.)
So, call the police right away.
Edit........... Mikey below is correct... I neglected to add the part about having to pay. Sorry.

Who advised you that they are in a pawn shop? When the police find stolen property they seize it, and if possible return it to the owner. Sometimes it needs to be held as evidence in the trial of the suspect in the crime.

a lot of times we don't have receipts as they may have been o gift or like me I found mine with my metal detector years ago... BUT what does work as ownership proof is a picture of you wearing the item .. as most thief's will answered 3 questions on the pawn slip as..."Yes THEY Own It... No they didn't find it and then the clincher.. they always say they have owned it for at least 3 years .. so they know the thief is lying because your wearing/using it in a photo dated in the not to distant past..

" Dog Lover" is right however, in Florida you will have to pay the pawn shop what they paid the bad guy who pawned your items to get them back. If there is restitution ordered it will usually be included. You have 60 days (I believe) to make this payment.

if its the police that told you, then they should help you get them back. You might need some proof that the items are yours.
I would avoid going to the store yourself, if you try to claim the items the store owner (if he's dishonest) might refuse, and by the time you return with a lawyer or the police he will have either sold the items or hidden them away somewhere and claim to have sold them.
sorry I can't help anymore than that. Hopefully the police will help, otherwise you will need to get a lawyer.
