Anyway, in their defense, every motivation breaks down when one encounters determinism, for example, why would one want to earn money to put food on the table when it's already decided whether they're going to earn money or not?... As everything breaks down equally well, in order to keep functioning while believing it, one has to ignore that belief. And of course, you may ultimately be destined to believe that belief and convert to Christianity because of it...

Actually, God did not make you an atheist, God gave you free will, you decided to be an atheist (or maybe simply you have not had the learning experience to decide a different thing).
You seem to be an objective person and not closed to hear and discuss ideas. Give a chance to you friend, hear and debate freely what he is trying to tell you. Nobody will force you to accept anything if you are not convinced.

Hey...thanks for the cookies..
One side of me says God does know what choices you'll make. But, they are still your choices.
The other side of me says God does not interfere with your free will at all.
I don't think it matters either way....you do the best you can with this life and I think you will be surprised/ok. Maybe you should say "Why should I accept God if he already knows whether or not I'm going to his fictional heaven?" instead of focusing on hell.

God didn't make you an athiest you chose that yourself. and yes he knows if you will be saved or not. but you don't. if you actually did a little research and maybe went to a good church once in awhile you would learn the truth before it's too late. hell is not a fictional place. it's in the center of the earth...open up a science book.....what is the core of the earth? fire. what comes bubbling up through volcanoes, fire and sulfur. all magma is , is a lake of fire. the bible also describes hell to have chambers in it like what you would see inside of underground caverns. people back then in bible days didn't know what the core of the earth was , they didn't have the things we have today, the technology to find these things out, so how do you think they knew this. God created science, it's really sad to see scientists(lovers of science) not make that connection. science is just now catching up with what the bible teaches. for instance it teaches we shouldn't circumsize babies until they are 8 days old....doctors now know that when a baby reaches 8 days old he produces vitamin k. something they give the baby when they go to circumsize him...if done before 8 days old. which is needed for the clotting of his blood. if theywould wait like it says then they wouldn't to inject him with it. so, how did the bible know that? thats just a couple of things, that alot of people don't look at...i could go on about it all day. so keep your cookies.

Being a Christian I don't find it strange that an all-knowing God already knows who will accept his gospel and love. I, unlike Him, am not all-knowing and I don't even know why I answered this question. Oh Well!

That is one of many contradicting situations in the bible, and you have a point. If the christian god jehova already knows who will follow him, then that means either predestination is law, or we do not have TRUE free will. Thank you!

Hmmm. So believing in or accepting God comes down to being a mere "theory", eh? No wonder you people can't get it; everything is a damn "theory" to you. Is this what happens to people who deify science? Because if it is, I'll willingly remain forever ignorant of it, and avoid it like the plague it's obviously become to so-called "thinking minds".
John 6:37 "...and the one who comes to Me, I will by no means cast out." People. Sometimes even I wonder if it was all worth the price. Then again, I'm just a man.

Yet again . . . I stand by the firm belief that if a god exists, it created everything. That means Atheists, Atheism, Agnostics, and Christians.
If you were all powerful, wouldn't you mix it up a bit?
This, of course, is presuming a god exists, and the jury is a bit hung on that.

It's better than the prophecy I got: a Christian brother told me that God knew who was, and was not, going to make it, and I DEFINITELY was going to hell....
