find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

here are some tips that work for me:
1 drink 8 ozs of water a day
2 try to eliminate sugar from your diet
3 try to eliminate soda
4 no trans fat
5 make sure what you eat has no high fructose corn syrup
6 eat portion controlled snacks
7 try to stick to fruits and veggies when snacking
8 try not to eat after 8 pm
9 start your day with a protein/fiber rich breakfast (sets your metabolism for the rest of the day)
10 when hungry opt for a lean protein it is more filling and leaves you satisfied longer
11 exercise-it is better if you can do alot of short exercise sets rather than say a two hour long exercise set twice a week. try to work out every day twice a day for say 15 min. it is easier and has better results than 3 times a week for like an hour. when you watch tv do crunches through the commercials. or jump rope which burns alot of calories and is kinda fun!

Get your doctor's permission to start the Atkin's Diet. I lost 130 lbs. in just under a year & have kept it off for a year. On this diet, you count carbs, watch your sugar consumption, drink plenty of water daily, exercsie daily. I walk briskly for an hour daily. I began losing well after Phase 1 was over. That's when the impurities are flushed out of your body. That's why the water is so important in this diet. You get plenty to eat on this diet. ( lots of protein: eggs, chicken, turkey, lean red meat) If your doctor says you can go on the Atkin's Diet, go out & buy the paperback book "The Atkin's Diet Revolution." Keep it handy & read it carefully. It consists of four phases. Just take one phase at a time. Good luck!!!

ok...15 lbs is a lot to lose but its not impossible. you need a plan ! first of all ... cut as many calories as you can from your diet. go for skim milk instead of whole, toss that burger and go for a veggie salad. Eat lean meat rather than red ... Exercise do cardio everyday ( like running, jumping rope) and DRINK PLENTY OF WATER .. also in your exercise plan include 2 days of weight training .. you can borrow exercise videos/ dvds from the library. And dont forget staying healthy is more important than losing weight so dont take LAXATIVES or STARVE yourself. Staying on the right track by eating well and exercising is what will help you reach your goal GOOD LUCK !

The best way, is by excercising, but honestly... 15lbs is Alot! May not seem like it but it really is... ive been a frequent dieter for the past 7 years... ive tried all types of pills, diets, food plans... you name it... im now doing this drink called Almased...ive lost 5 pounds in about a 2 weeks. It works very well and my cuzn lost 30lbs in 3 months. You have to really follow it. If you arent overweight...you should honestly just excerise your butt off. Even if its just 2 times a week... espescially being so young... the ONLY reason i would even suggest anything like almased is becuz its an all natural drink and very healthy for you.

Eat healthy, and do cardio atleast 25 minutes a day.
Eat more protein, like chicken and turkey. Try to cut down on red meat, because it takes the body 3 days to digest red meat while it takes 1 day for the body to digest meat like chicken and turkey.
Also drink plenty of water, and don't drink any soda at all. Eat a low of veggies and fruits as well.
