I just adopted a stray cat this week who was left on my doorstep. However, I did take it to the vet and I found out it is a female. I really need a good name for her. I did start to call her Sugar but the more I call her the more I dont know if I like that name for her. She is all black except around her neck she has brown fur. sort of like a lion thing. She has a very sweet personality. She is so loveable and very friendly. Which made me choose the name Sugar for her. but I am really starting to like the name Gracie for her. Which name would be best for my cat? which name do you think goes best with her personality? if neither of those names go with her, then give me a few names you think would be cute for her?

Honestly, all of my cats have been strays. I have named them based on the moment that I got them.

My first stray was in a tree and would wigg out when I came around so I named him Spaz.

My second stray was found in town where a girl was playing with him at 3wks and trying to feed him hard cat food, so I named him Big Rig (the girl had a truck)

My third stray was left on my mom's restaurant's door step and was very clumsy so I named him Putz.

My fourth stray I heard meowing on my way to class, he was up inside a car next to a motor. After calling the campus police, and the person who owned the car, we got him out without any problem HE STUNK so i named him tinky.

My fifth stray was a solid white cat who the people living two houses down from me got evicted, and left the cat. My husband and I wanted to be different and named her shadow.

You should choose the best name for your cat. I like both you have chosen. Which one feels right for you?

I think Gracie is a cuter name. My cats all get names and then end up getting a few nick names too. The right name will come to you!

I like both of those names. A sibilant name is really good for a cat, and both your choices are good. Does she already answer to Sugar? If so, you have already named her! But you can call her Sugar Magnolia, and call her Sugar for short, if you want a more elegant name.

Since you think she's sweet, she's Sugar ... but because she was an 'unexpected gift' she's also Gracie ... and I think that you should call her BOTH names ... Sugar Gracie ... and you can 'call her' whatever you want, as long as you LOVE HER ... or you could call her Gracie Sugar too, but add your 'last name' because she's part of your 'family' now!

I can imagine how your pet cat may look like. For a cute name, try Maple, like the color of maple syrup. Yet, if you are looking for a hardcore name, try Brimstone, the cat looks like it can breathe black flames. Use your imagination to come up with unique names & avoid using cliche pet names that most other cat owners would use.

Perhaps "Licorice" like the chewy candy that is black & sweet, or "Precious" since she is special and God's precious gift to people. I'm sure you will choose a name that suits her perfectly. God bless you for giving her a loving home. Enjoy.
