While I'm not familiar with an eliptical, the treadmill will work the side of your abs (though very lightly), the bike will work your lower abs (also, lightly). If you truly want to lose some weight from a specific area, it is suggested that you exercise those specific underlying muscles. If you are incapable of doing situps appropriately , either because of lack of musculature or a little pudge in the way, you could try rowing machines or swimming (both total body workouts), which will also work your abs and help you slim down. Good luck!

You most likely see results in the beginning. Once you notice you cannot lose anymore, you 've have reached a plateau. Your body learns (adapts) quickly to the workout that you do, so you would have to cycle your workouts. Like for instance do your routine for 3 weeks, off one week, then back on again for another 3 weeks. You can either increase the time intervals of your workout or do another type of workout that you're not used to. Hope it works out. Good luck.

As long as those 20 minutes are elevating your heart rate into your zone (between 65% - 80% of you max. heart rate). That's around the peak zone for fat burn. Don't take too long of a break between machines, if you take a break, keep moving, don't just sit down. Do this, you'll definitely lose body fat. Keep it up!

what and how much are you eating? how many days a week are you exercising? are you doing any weight bearing exercises?
all of these things contribute, but yes, you should see some results from 60 minutes of cardio, provided that you're doing it consistantly.
good luck and keep it up.

You have to continue. The abdominal obesity will start going away only in the last. So be patient and do not give up excercise.
