I dont think it is a good idea to bring a gift. You should send one either through the registry or else mail it yourself. In the etiquette books it says no one wants to schlepp all the presents that day least of all the bridal couple. They get dropped and packed into someone elses van and cards get lost. So just take yourself .

A gift would be a good start, what kind depends on the friend. If you were a real friend, talk her out of getting married. As I say before, to ruin a great relationship, get married.

A gift, your I.D., lipstick, a wrap in case it gets cold, and enough cash to cover any drinks you may want to buy for yourself (you never know if they'll have an open bar, or a cash bar), or in case there is a dollar dance.
