ABSOLUTELY, without a doubt -- cocker spaniels! I invite you to visit my website -- www.americancockerspanielrescue.com (AND, they don't get any more aggressive as they get older than any other breed!)

Golden retrievers are beautiful dogs, and they are smart with the greatest temperament. So out of those, I would say the Golden is my favorite. The cocker is such a pretty dog, but they are hard to train. But then again they say a dog is only as smart as it's owner, so being that I had a cocker, and had a horrible time training them, maybe I am the not so smart one. My sister has a Chihuahua and she is not like any other Chihuahua I have ever met. She is smart and friendly, and very brave. I have never seen her do that shiver yipping thing they are so well known for. She rules the roost and protects everyone at her house. I have not really had any experience with the papillon.

I like Cocker Spaniels, but they are hard to keep groomed. Golden Retriever is a beautiful dog, loyal and friendly, and the grooming isn't as extensive. Chihuahuas are just too nervous. Don't know anything about Papillon, but they look like Chihuahua with more hair-so I would be afraid they had the same temperament.

golden retreiver and no offense but it is proven the cocker spaniels are almost the stupidest dog you can get.. but they are pretty and the golden retriever will follow you and stay close and a chihuahua will to but if you accidently step on it's paw it will really be hurt and a papillon is cute and kind of hyper. Golden retriever in later years will have hip troble and the little digs might not be as able to (ex: jump up on a couch) it really depends on your preference mine would be a papillon or a golden retriever.

Out of those choices, golden retrievers, but I'm not really a fan of any of them. I've had bad experiences with Cockers and I've never met a chihuahua or a papillon, so I can't judge them, but I'm generally a big dog person.

Golden Retriever hands down. I've had a Golden and two Cockers. The Golden was awesome (we lost him to cancer last October). They shed a lot twice a year and require some exercise but temperment, smarts, lovability, trainability, loyalty, did I mention smart?....they are the best dogs. Cockers tend to be barky and are nervous biters. Not good when you have guests or small kids visiting. No opinion on the other breeds.

the golden retriever is probably the best dog out of those four. they are loyal and love people. they are very playful and love children. cocker spaniels tend to get more agressive as they get older. chihuahuas are annoying and easily stepped on. i have never actually met a papillon in real life but i have seen pictures of them.

Golden Retriever. Papillons and chihuahuas don't really do it for me. I feel like they're too fragile. Cocker spaniels are really cute, but golden retrievers, especially if you are lucky to get a good tempered one, are completely lovable
