that haunts them? Assuming you believe in ghosts. Most people would call a Catholic priest to exorcise. What say you?

Being a true believer of God and the Bible, I am sorry to say I really can't answer your question. But thanks for asking, I am sure you will get lots of great responses. :)

If you are truly haunted and trying to get rid of it, try looking for someone that's physic. Maybe they can contact it, find out why it's there, and let it know it needs to move on.

Oftentimes a entity can be a manifestation of our own energy - take a look at yourself - are there aspects of your life that you should change to become a better person? Evil is attracted to evil (not necessary the person as a whole, but thoughts, desires, etc can be evil while the person is basically good but that can be enough to attract evil entities).

If it comes down to it, you might have to contact it yourself. Sometimes by simply telling it that it must be gone - with conviction - will be enough to rid yourself of it.

That's a laugh. When you say most you mean catholics, or desperate people who catholics have told they have the only solution for.
First I would gather scientists to study the phenomena, then we could determine exactly what it is and get rid of it like we get rid of every other problem.
You might be under the assumption that there is only one way to get rid of evil spirits, but many religions have there own methods. As such I would see it more as the power of individuals and their willing desire to get rid of such a thing that is effective not the actual religious order.
Simply by taking into account that other people have solved the problem with different beliefs, but with similar interested (getting rid of spirits), you can eliminate the differences as being an actual part of the solution.

Anyone intelligent enough to know that God doesnt exist and that the Bible is false also knows that evil entities do not exist either. So, moot point. But, if assuming they believe in ghosts and not Gods, then they might try treatment for schizophrenia.

You could do a number of things, depending on what kind of entity you have. If you are just "average Joe", you could contact someone who has experience in communication with the spiritual realm to communicate with said entity, possibly just asking it to leave works. If you have any experience in magickal workings, the are many spells for banishing ghosts and thaughtforms, there are talismans and charms that drive off or repel diffrent kind of spiritual beings.
A little more information though?? What gives you the impression that the entity is truly "evil"? Poltergeist activity is often contributed to adolesents (usually females) just entering into puberty emitting high amounts of psychic activity....

Well, that depends. On what do you base your belief in "evil entities?" Once you know that, you've got it made. A Santerian would call their santero, a buddhist would call a monk, a New Ager would call a medium or other sensitive, a believer in Evil Extradimensional Invaders would call, oh, David Icke, I guess.

I would simply do the job myself, since, as an Occultist, I believe that any spirit I might encounter is subject to the power of the human Will.

Evil entities are the dichotomy of good entities.. Without one you can't have the other..

It takes a religious dogma to believe in posession by supposedly demonic forces.. Without the dogma there is no basis for a belief in possession...

This is why people without a religious dogma find the movie "The Exorcist" neither frightening nor disturbing.. the symbology is meaniongless without the associated religious dogma..

Erm.... I believe you're wrong with the "Most people would call a Catholic priest to exorcise." comment, as most Catholic priests DON'T exorcise, or do much of anything resembling it these days...

Gee, you make it sound as if Christiantiy had the monopoly on beliefs in "evil entities".

Simply go see one of the other countless non-Christian religions that does believe in evil entities and gives instructions on what to do about them: Shamanism, Thelemites, Setians, whatever.

Or, just lay off the pot brownies.

Personally, I do it by realizing it doesn't exist either.

Japanese people call shinto priests.

Wacky scientists build plasma-trapping contraptions.

Nice people understand the ghosts aren't truly evil, and help them with any unfinished business so they can dissipate in peace.

I wonder - why do ghosts seldom if ever bother atheists, and go after christians so often?

Also - whatare ghosts, exactly, according to you? Aren't dead people supposed to go to heaven or hell?

Spirits gain their power from doubt and ignorance - and can be driven out through FAITH. Typically, this is faith in the BIBLE - but anything that you hold a strong belief in can become a symbol of your faith and devotion.

An idea just came to me... your WEDDING ring is the ultimate symbol of faith and devotion - or it should be! Simply approach the spirit (or the posessed), and drive them out with the strength of your love :)

Or... A good B*tch slap to the face works quite well too ;););)
