I have a no solicting sign on my door. When someone knocks I will answer and see who it is. I will tell them no solicting and point to the sign, if they look puzzled I will say no saleing... Then I shut the door. If they knock again I open it and simply tell them I am calling security and close the door again. I have yet to have anyone knock a third time. The thing is we no longer have a security guard in the day, so it is a bluff.

So maybe next time they knock figure something out to bluff them. I was just thinking to tell them that you cant talk because you are late for your cult meeting LOL.

The trick is to take the upper hand, if you dont give them a chance to get started then they cant and you dismiss them and close the door. Of course you do it with the biggest smile on your face and it likely confuses them all the more. It does not matter who it is.

It just takes a little pratice, and it sounds like you have a chance to get plenty of it LOL.

I am a young female and live alone so I never, ever answer the door for someone I don't know. However it makes me feel invaded as it is when someone I don't know knocks on my door let alone if they are

People say "It's not like you have to answer this door." Yes, this is true. But it personally makes me uncomfortable when someone I don't know is at my doorstep. A lot of times, especially on the weekends when I'm cleaning, I have all my blinds open. It makes me feel exposed in my own home and completely invades my privacy.

Yes it is.

You can ask them to put you on a list they have (like a don't bother list) and they will stop dropping by.

I have had to do this a few times because of moving, but once I asked them not to come back they respected my wishes.

If you are really bothered, ask them the number to their Kingdom Hall. Call and ask for whoever is in charge and tell them that you don't want anymore visits. That should stop it.

Just say no thanks just like the mormons...and the rest of the preachers from Protestant and catholic churches...oh wait they never knock...hold on now...just a cotton pickin minute...According to Born Again and Catholic and other religions won't I go to hell if I don't convert? Then why aren't THEY coming to my door and telling me that? Don't they want me to get saved? Don't they care? You mean to tell me only The JW's and Mormons are concerned enough for me to come to my door? Am I missing something here?

tell the local kingdom hall in your area that you want to be placed on the DO NOT CALL list and you will recieve no one at your door. That is a good thing for us witnesses then we can find honest hearted people a whole lot faster.

The next time we are at your door, tell us you don't want us to come back. We will make a note of it and it will be another 7 years before you are in our territory.

We don't use "tricks" to get people to come to the door. I will ask this questions of you. You don't have to answer it either.

If Jesus Christ came to your door during his second coming, and you didn't know it was him, would you shut the door on him? People didn't believe he was the Christ when he was on earth before. What if you found out a week later that it was Jesus himself that was at your door, as your test, and you turned him down cause you didn't want to hear about his Father's Kingdom and how to live forever?

Now, how do you feel about it?

It can be annoying, but I try to remember that they are only doing it because they believe they have a responsibility to share their message. It is an act of faith on their part. Even if I don't agree with them, I try to respect that. They are not trying to be annoying. If it really bothers you, you can ask them not to come anymore. It isn't necessary to be rude.

When I was young, the JW's used to come to our door, too ... until one day when my mom was home and feeling 'mischievous' she saw them in the neighborhood, dressed up in a 'long black dress' with a black hat, lit candles all over and set them on the floor, and drew a pentacle ... then when they knocked, she answered with 'I'm so glad you are here ... we're missing a few people from our coven, and ...' THEY TOOK OFF RUNNING. When I went back to visit some neighbors years later, they said that there had been NO JWs in the neighborhood since that day.

I highly doubt that anyone in this forum has ever been to your house. Tell the people that keep coming to stop, place a sign on the outside of your door, etc.
