You know both your Bible and Greek better than I do. So does my pastor. Rather than knock on my door, would you be willing to make an appointment instead? Then I could hear both sides of the issue...

lover of.... Hi! haven't seen you in a while.... just curious why you would not welcome the pastor to the bible study? That seems a bit unfair.....

Yes, of course...so the next time our brothers/sisters knock on your door, you are welcome to make an appointment with them and they will be happy to return and answer any questions you may have.

Regarding your pastor, it is not that we are afraid nor' do we see that unfair. We just do not entertain "debate" and i am sure (no doubt) that having a bible discussion with a pastor will turn into a debate...or argument. That is something Jehovah's Witnesses are encouraged to avoid. Not because we can't defend our faith but because Jesus said in Matthew 7:6 "Do not.....throw YOUR pearls before swine."

Meaning, some individuals are just out there to argue and show no appreciation for Bible Knowledge, Jesus’ disciples should leave those people and seek out those who are more receptive. We don't mind talking to a pastor..if he is really interested in what we really are teaching and preaching... he can make his own appointment when Witnesses come knocking at his door. It's as simple as that.

If you want to compare.... you are more than welcome to take notes and you may ask your pastor. Then in between, you can do your own research...your own comparison.

The next time they come to your door, you make an appointment with them. They would love to honor that appointment.

Also, you can call up a kingdom hall in your area and make an appointment there with the Service Overseer. He will make certain that an appointment is made with you, but coming on here to this forum, you're asking half the world, you know? They don't know where you are, what state you're in, or where you are.

This is probably not the best place for you to be making an appointment. When they come to your door next make an appointment directly to their faces. Better yet, like I said above, call a kingdom hall in your area and set up an appointment.

God truly knows your heart condition and if you're serious or not, or just blowing smoke. He will relay this to the witnesses to either help them get to you, or prohibit them from getting with you because you just might not be serious at all about an appointment, going on a public and stranger forum like this asking for an appointment.

We'll see what happens, or maybe we just won't. Truth.

What do you mean make an appointment? With who?If it is not convienant for you when we call,of course we can arrange to come a time when it suits you.But if you are asking for a debate with a pastor present I dont think you will get many takers,as it is not our aim to argue and debate our beliefs. We have been entrusted by Jehovah to spread the good news about God's Kingdom and its many blessings for obedient mankind. Our teachings are based solely on the Bible.(Mat.24:14)

the next time a Jehovah Witness comes to your door, they would love to answer any questions but not with your pastor. write down the answers and let your pastor see the answers. or go to the website at www.watchtower.org and set up an appointment or call the local kingdom hall in your neighborhood. I agree with Tee M. we don't argue and if he wants to know about Jehovah Witness, we will talk with him another time.

Answer the door to them once, accept their brochure and ask them to come at a specific time and day. They'll do their best to oblige.

I'm catholic and I studied with the witnesses for a year. Like many, I couldn't give up my worldly ways but you should listen to them what they say makes sense and they will turn to the bible to show you where their belief comes from and point out the exact text to show you.

I didn't convert because I felt I couldn't give up my boyfriend or christmas with my kids or birthdays.

We aren't going door to door to argue.

If you want to discuss the bible, not to argue.

If the 'pastor' would like to learn, he can make his own appointment.

You can ask the next time someone comes to your door about making an appointment with you. You can also go to www.watchtower.org and make an online request; someone from the closest congregation to your home will come out to make a visit.

Instead of relying on someones opinion why don't you look the passages up yourself in a Interlinear. That way you can make your own mind what is the truth with out having some one dictate to you what their version of the truth is.

I haven't had one knock on my door since I answered the door once in my robe ( just got out of the shower ) and they asked if they could come in and i said sure thing I was just house cleaning in the nude, and dropped my robe! They didn't even say nevermind, it was a guy and a girl lower twenty's would be my guess, and they both looked down and turned red and ran away! So i had to clean my own house!
