Prophecy is a prophetic gift given by the Holy Spirit - so, of course there are prophets in each generation.
I know some people with that gift.

Yes, there are no prophets; but I am Saint Nearly.
C'mon, which would you rather have, a prophet or a saint?
As a saint, I am more holy than any prophet.
If you have studied the Bible, you may know of the prophets therein; but none of them achieved a level of holiness that saints are capable of.
And so I come unto you with open arms, for I am the patron saint of all hypocrites.
I have a special fondness for Baptists, for I seek hypocrites that I may bless them.

7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
To believe that there is no possibility of a Prophet in the world today, is to believe that God is doing nothing today - I don't believe in such a Liaise Faire God, that is why I believe there is a Prophet in the world today.

There are, but most people believe that the heavy prophesies were voiced in ancient times. The "good book" is a reference for these. In modern times, there are people telling it like it is everywhere you look. Are they heard and respected? If yes, would you have asked your question??

Everything we need to know is in the Bible. (of course the Mormons will disagree with that).
Jesus said in Matthew 11:13,
"For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John [the Baptist]." ...which marked the end of the old covenant.
The new covenant was inaugurated at the last supper. The book of Revelation marks the finality of Christ's prophetic word until all is completed.

There are.
Before Jesus, God appointed and called people to be prophets to the people.
AFTER Jesus, He called all those who believe and follow Him to be apostles/messengers of The Gospel (The Good News) for Jesus Christ & God Almighty.
