Your dog should stay in heat for about two to three weeks. If it goes on longer than a month, something is wrong, and she needs to be seen by a vet. The bleeding will start light, get heavy and then taper off toward the end of the heat. You'll know she's about half way through because she'll stand (turn her tail to the side etc, if something or someone goes near her bum). That'll last for about a week, and then she might get moody if anyone is around her back end.
For what it's worth, she will likely come into season again in the winter. My advice? Have her spayed. It eliminates the hassel of the heat, and it's much better for your dog in the long run...

Im sorry but 21 days my dog was in heat for 3 months so I would say anywhere in between but up to 3 months probley also depends on the breed

a couple weeks, They ovulate about the 10-12 day. so unless you want her to be bred keep her away from males. Thats normally when spotting lets up but is not stoped. but on average females are in heat for a about 2-3 weeks. and If you do breed her the gestation period is 63 days.

Mine stayed in heat for a lot longer than 21 days. But the discharge doesn't last the whole time. But she will be swollen for some time longer than 21 days. Good luck.
