A camaro is a real bad choice for most teens.... it's cool...but you don't have the experience or patience to handle a high performing car. That's why the insurance is so expensive...... If you think you can however, why not offer them a deal , in writing..... that you agree that if you have one accident or get a single speeding ticket in the first 2 years,,,,,, the car will be sold immediately....with no remorse or excuses.

you have an uphill battle. Camaros are notoriously unreliable (I've owned 2) and cost a ton to insure. Add to that the last Camaro was made in 2002, so they're all getting pretty old and a lot of them have been driven hard. If you were my kid, I'd say no...there are sporty cars out there that are better buys for a teen.

I'm assuming and older cameo...so, don't do it. You parents are balking because they know the upkeep (mechanic wise) is more than you can afford. Be lucky to be able to afford a car and get one with little maintenance. Like a Honda. Good luck.
