A diploma will get you in the door, but the knowledge is what keeps you employed.

This is a complex question to answer. It may be true that you can get a job by having a diploma from a decent school, and yes, if one has native intelligence one can get through many schools without getting much of an education.

But why not use the years you have in college to give you an education that you can rely on throughout your life? Your college years are a time when you can explore big questions and explore areas of knowledge that may help you in later life in ways you can't imagine now.

But if you just plan to work at a dumb job and then go home and drink beer and watch television, by all means avoid getting a real education.

NO. You need the education a lot more than the diploma! People will judge you for the rest of your life based on your education, and hardly anyone will ever ask to see your diploma. Your education shows each time you speak, write, or make a decision. Give yourself every advantage you can!

Gotta agree, you can buy a diploma on the internet for $500 (dont this they are fake diplomas) but what employers want from degree holders and expect is the knowledge they learned earning that degree. The bar isnt set at college/highschool diplomas because they look good hanging on your wall its what they can expect from you because you have one.

Everyone needs an education. China is an example where everyone passes and nowhere in the world are their degrees accepted.

You have to really know things, or you'll get cheated, fired, screwed up, and messed with.
