Many buildings have been made of bricks in many different sizes.
Chance dictates that at least some ancient bricks will co-incidentally be the same size as today's 'standard'..
"Isn't it spooky ? Roman Roads are EXACTLY the right width for today's standard Car wheelbase ... how on Earth could tyhay have known how wide to make the roads all those years ago.... "
