My daughter, 27 and my mother, 88 have some issues between them. It hurts me to hear my daughter say it's too late to have a good relationship with her Grandmother. I feell like I'm trying to mend the fence between them. I would like to see them heal the hurts before my mother passes on.

It's never to late as long as she is living. Could they maybe come to a compromise? Agree to disagree maybe?

I can't imagine how you feel. That would break my heart. Your daughter may someday regret not mending fences and I wouldn't want my Mom passing with hard feelings.

Was it something so awful in the big scheme of life to have these grudges? Maybe they could at least make amends.

If your mother hasn't bothered before now, then its too late. She should have done that when her granddaughter was a child. Its not up to your daughter to mend any fences, in this situation, your mother is at fault.

Btw, its never a good idea to get involved with fixing issues between family members. Just sit back, pass the popcorn and they will fix themselves.

At 27 and 88,they don't need your help.Stay out of it and let them resolve their own issues.Obviously, they must never have been that close.
If your mother passes on and your daughter feels guilt,it will be up to her to deal with it as best she can.
Running interference between family members seldom works. It usually leads to hard feelings elsewhere. You may just end up having issues with your daughter if you press too hard.
I WOULD STAY OUT OF IT.

They're both adults and, unfortunately, there's not much you can do. You'll only end up exhausted. They'll have to figure it out on their own.

You should stay out of it. I know you'd like to be able to fix it, but both women are adults. It is out of your hands.
