Here is one that my Dad found. Be VERY careful it can get out of control with the Jalapenos! But boy is it good!
El Cid Chili
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 2 pounds sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
• 1/2 pound ground beef
• 12 ounces chorizo sausage, casing removed, cut into 1/2 cubes
• 1 large yellow onion, coarsely chopped
• 1/4 cup chili powder
• 1 tablespoon garlic salt
• 2 teaspoons cumin
• 1 teaspoon dried basil
• 2 (14.5-ounce) cans beef broth
• 2 (14.5-ounce) cans whole tomatoes, drained
• 1 cup cilantro, chopped
• 1 cinnamon stick
• 3 bay leaves
• 2 green jalapenos, slit lengthwise 3 times each
• 1 tablespoon yellow cornmeal
• Salt and pepper, to taste
• Garnish with Cheddar and sour cream
Method:
Place oil in a large, heavy pot over medium heat. Brown the sirloin in batches. Remove to a bowl with a slotted spoon. Add ground beef, chorizo and onions to the pot and brown. Make sure to break up the meat. Return sirloin to the pot. Stir in remaining ingredients, except for garnishes. Cut three slits in each pepper from top to bottom but not all the way through to the bottom. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 2 hours. Stir occasionally, breaking up tomatoes. Before serving, discard cinnamon stick, bay leaves and jalapenos. Garnish, if desired.

This is how I cook Chili. Brown your hamburger in a frying pan, when you see no more red drain most the grease and add in diced onions (yellow onion) green bell pepper and fresh garlic. Use as much or as little as you like depending on the amount of meat (usually 2pounds). I then use seasoned stewed diced tomatoes and seasoned tomato sauce (like basil and oregano or roasted garlic tomato sauce whatever you prefer) I also use V8 juice instead of most of the water needed. Now the secret part...lol... I then use the 2Alarm Chili mix and season to taste.......but be careful don't use all the chili powder they give you it's too much. I only use the mix because it has all the spices needed in separate packets. I also throw in some Mrs. Dash seasoning and a dash of A1 sauce if you like. Always taste test and then add more seasoning if preferred. It is easier to add more if needed than to fix if over spiced! Enjoy....Bon apetite. Good luck and God bless.

I use taco seasoning in my chili instead of the chili seasoning. It is so gooooooooooood!!! Easy recipe...kidney beans, hamburger meat, tomato sauce, diced onion (if you like), and taco seasoning pkg. Cook meat add sauce and beans let it simmer a bit then ad the seasoning about 30 minutes before you serve. The seasoning absorbs a lot a moisture so it kinda thickens up the chili. Serve with shredded Cheddar cheese and sour cream. I eat mine with Frito's my hubby likes saltines. Dang...now I'm hungry!

-cook up your ground beef with onions and garlic and crushed red peppers (if you like it hot)
-melt in 4 squares of bitter-sweet dark chocolate*
-add 2/3 cups of chili powder
-2 tbsp. Cayenne powder (the hot stuff, adjust to taste)
-salt
-add your beans
-add (1) 16oz of crushed tomato's
-add the seeds of 1 jalapeno (if you like it HOT) if not, add the jalapeno itself, seedless, chopped up
-add 2-5 table spoons of masa as needed to thicken.
-simmer for 30 minutes
serve with cornbread and cheese (:
*the chocolate wont be detectable, its the most delicious chili you'll ever have. spicy foods and chocolate go well together. you must use bitter-sweet though. no milk chocolate.
