It will probably be the same as Jr.; 100 points and 100,000 dollars each. Unless of course, NASCAR is on an "out to prove" mentality and make it worse. I'm a Gordon fan, but don't think that I think they should get special treatment. If they failed inspection, they should have to pay the same penalty as Jr. did.

100 points, 100k, 6 race crew chief suspension for the 24 team.
125 points, 125k, crew chief suspended until The Chase for the 48 team.
And no, a little leeway during inspections is not acceptable. This is a series where thousandths of a second make a difference. Fractions of an inch on the body make a huge difference in performance.

I'm just not getting this at all.Chad is way to smart to get caught or even attempt to alter the C.O.T. While he has been known to push the envelope and be shall we say be "creative".Nascar has let it be known they will not tolerate any modifications to the C.O.T. Maybe by the end of the day Chad will have Nascar convinced Jeff and Jimmys cars are the only legal ones.Probably not tho,Chad's good just not that good.Disappointing.

Their fenders were too wide, it's not like they had jet fuel in their tank. NASCAR has made it clear that they want nothing changed on the template, so even though it's a lame infraction, they'll get the 100 point penalty and fine. Probably see the crew chiefs out 4-6 races.
As for "Jimmie is the Barry Bonds of NASCAR" - WTF? The last time I checked, Jimmie wasn't a mechanic or a fabricator. He doesn't build the car, he drives what they give him.

I agree with matt, if they broke the rules, they should face the same penalties as everyone else. And I am a Jeff Gordon fan.

I will step up and say that I'm disappointed by HMS. Whatever NASCAR hands down, HMS deserve. I pray they bounce back. I'm not giving up on my driver or crew chief. I will still wear my #24 outfits on Sundays. How many of you still think NASCAR caterers to Gordon or HMS pays them off? Can you agree that his lead in points have been legit so far?
