Eating too much anything makes you gain weight - if you consume more calories than you burn, you will gain weight, period.
However, calories from fruit do have more nutrition than calories from things like, say, candy or chips. But, fruit also has a lot of sugars in it - the types of sugars in fruits are more healthy than the refined sugars in candy, but since there are so many of them, you would probably do better to get most of your calories from grains and vegetables. Pound for pound, you will get more nutrition from the calories in them, and with less sugar, than you would from the calories in fruit.
Hope this makes sense, and that it helps....

4 servings of fruit a day is all you need and not more than 2 servings at a time. fruit are high in fructose (sugar) which is digested in kidneys and have the same effect on them as alcohol.

Eating too much of anything will make you gain weight, it's based on the amount of calories you consume and burn.

yes, but its healthy for you. You would gain alot more weight if you ate a bunch of meat a day. All fruits have natural sugar.
