Everyone is different.
Optimum weight loss should be 1/2 pound a week.
It's tough to keep that 1/2 pound off and still lose another 1/2 pound.

Not everyone is the same. You both have your periods at different times of the month and so that means your weight will go up and down at a different pace. She just lost water weight more so then fat off her body. You lost more fat then water. Or at lest that is what it seems that happened. It is safe for her to lose that much in so little time cause she is larger and holds more water then you do. I do the same thing when my weight goes up and down its around the 15 pound range for me cause I am a large women (well large in my eyes 178 pounds). Next week she will either go up a few pounds cause it was just water weight or just slow the weight loss a little. if she keeps getting this big numbered weight loss Have her talk to a doctor she could be doing something that is either not safe or maybe her body is just in over drive with the good food and exercise. When I started this last different work out I lost 8 pounds in a week and it was all water weight from what my doctor said. So play it safe and make sure she is not getting dizzy or to sleepy. Some large women and men can be diabetic and not know it cause they are eating foods that help make the signs less noticeable. Good Luck this summer on the weight loss.

it's not healthy in general, but since she has so much weight it is probably easier for her to lose a lot at the beginning. Tell her not to starve herself, or she won't be burning fat. She must eat healthier but often, and all main nutrients. And not less than 1200 calories. You lost what is expected and is fine!

Usually a ten pound loss in one week is unhealthy, but, people who are significantly overweight tend to lose more weight in the first few weeks of working out/dieting. Most of it will be water weight.

Well, somebody heavier tends to lose weight quicker than somebody lighter. This is because a heavier person needs to eat more than the lighter person just to maintain their weight. But if you two have been eating basically the same thing and doing the same exercise, then yes, she will drop the weight faster.

It is completely healthy if she did it in a healthy way by working out and eating healthy. And for you, your metabolism is probably slower than hers. That is completely normal.
