The car is going to be used. Think 2000 - 2003. the accord coupe is a 2003. Mustangs are my favorite, but their gas mileage isn't that great.

Don't get a mustang. First of all, if you get into a serious accident in the mustang, make sure you have your burial stuff taken care of. Mustangs also have low reliability, so you will make great friends with a mechanic. Also the gas mileage stinks. The VW Jetta is not a safe car either. It is too small to protect you, and you always want to be prepared for the worse because your life and body is precious. The reliability of the Jetta isn't great either. Especially on the older models like 2000. The accord coupe is a definite yes. My friend has an 04, and it is a great car. He hasn't had any problems with it, and it is a very safe car. Best crash test rating out of all the cars, and I personally think it is the most stylish. It gets good gas mileage also, of course V6 gets less...

Get the car that you know you can afford. As far as safety concerns a 2000 Jetta is safer than a 2000 Acccord despite it being small car and the Accord being a midsize. The New Jetta was awarded best pick by the IIHS for 06. The current Mustang only got a overall Acceptable rating. There is no data for the old models. In my opinion the Mustang is just a cheaply built, low tech thrills car. If you're going to buy a sports car why not get the real thing?

Your evaluating an 8 cyclinder to 2 6 cyclinders. The imports would be greater desirable on gas mileage. The mustang and the accord may be each and on a daily basis drivers, no longer the nissan except you reside in a prevalent heat section. i'm professional nissan, yet to that end i might circulate with the Mustang for genuine end velocity. in case you wan't practicality then circulate with the Accord. you will no longer save very plenty on coverage any the two of those because of the fact 2 are activities automobiles and the different has a severe robbery fee. stable success

I bought a '91 Mustang GT after I graduated and I still have it today. I love it! When I was driving it more regularly I was getting 23 mpg, but I wasn't smoking the tires off it either. And its a 5.0L 5 speed. And mine has been very reliable for me. Look up the new '07 Mustangs in the latest JD Powers quality rankings, they were the number one car for quality in its class, beating out the Toyota Solara.

It was worth it to me to buy my dream car instead of some generic car even if the economics of it don't make sense. It was a reward to myself for sticking it out and getting a college degree. Trust me, if you don't follow your heart now you certainly won't once you are married and have 2 kids.

By the way, one of my sisters cracked up her Civic and another sister cracked up her T-Bird. My sister-in-law cracked up HER Civic too. Meanwhile, my Mustang has barely a scratch on it and it's 16 years old! As long as you are an attentive driver it doesn't matter what car you own.

Accord coupe just for reliability, and it's easier to handle.
2nd the Jetta for pretty much the same reason

Last the mustang, I had a 2001 and it was high maintenance. and in the hands of an unexperienced driver, you could find your self facing the wrong way in bad weather. Also the brakes suck.

The Honda is more dependable and reliable, and has excellent resale value. The Jetta, thumbs down, Mustang, I'd rather have a 60's Stang then the crap they are producing now.

Go with your favourite if it meets your mechanics approval. Not just because its a Mustang (I love them too) but because its your first and like all firsts in life you'll never get another. My first was a beat up old Plymouth K-CAR.. what a let down. I should have waited til I could afford what i wanted

I know you don't want to hear it, but your first car should be expendable. You'll probably wreck it the first year, or at least cause enough body damage to eliminate the pleasure of seeing it's beautiful lines. Be careful of getting high powered car for your first one.... it's only bound to make the probability of totalling it greater. Get a used, modestly powered tank, like a 4 cyl camry, or a crown victoria......... after a year or 2 of experience, then spend some real money on the car you love.

Do you love Mustangs enough to pay the premium rate your insurance company will charge you for having a sports car? No, their gas mileage isn't great, that V-8 isn't built for economy after all.
